American Christianity has not been – Christ like – in a while.
Following Christ and the term – “Christian” are almost opposites.The term Christian was first used in the scripture in reference to how the Romans who saw these trouble making set of Jews. It was a derogatory term that was synonymous with “niger”.
In the Greek – “niger” meant Christian or more precisely Black Christian.
Yes, in those times Greeks referred to the Jews who became disciples of Yeshua as trouble makers, nonconformist, because they were turning the status quo on its head. These disciples or “Black Christians” were teaching, healing, prophesying, and setting people free and this was upsetting the economy and power structure set up in those times.
